Grade 1 Science

It’s an exciting time to learn science at Overbrook, as the school has just adopted a new science text and curriculum. Through hands on experiments students learn to question, observe, and examine everyday natural occurrences. Students will begin to develop a better understanding of the world around them.

• Students will learn the scientific method and implement scientific practices.
• Students monitor the weather, learn about force and motion, and explore magnets.
• Through growing plants and conducting experiments students gain a basic understanding of the earth’s environment and organisms.
• Students learn about various habitats and the animals and plants in them.
