Grade 2 Religion

Our approach emphasizes each individual as a person made in the image and likeness of God. The curriculum includes study of the Trinity, the life of Christ, the Ten Commandments, the Church, prayer, the sacraments, Mary, the saints, and the liturgical year. It provides sound Catholic doctrine that overflows in practice and in virtue development to permeate the whole school day, which is centered on Christ. Second-grade students receive preparation for the sacraments of Penance and First Holy Communion.

Memorized prayers include: Ten Commandments, Steps to Receive Reconciliation, Act of Contrition, Apostles’ Creed, Responses at Mass, Prayers of the Rosary.
