Grade 2 Social Studies

Our social studies curriculum allows the student to explore his or her own American culture through projects and research activities. Social studies focus on government, laws, and early America. The principles of American democracy are reflected within the course of study. The curriculum includes the following areas:

• Past and present United States communities
• Maps and globes using map keys, the compass rose, and land forms
• Presidents and American history
• State locations and characteristics
• Black history
