A PREK to 8 CATHOLIC SCHOOL SINCE 1936

Overbrook Junior High Overview

The Junior High curriculum at Overbrook is a strong academic preparation for a college-preparatory program at the high school level. The curriculum is designed to promote the development of the whole person, academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The junior high teachers work together as a team to provide the students with a supportive and nurturing environment where they can express their ideas and develop their talents and gifts to their fullest potential.

Overbrook School's junior high program introduced music electives for junior high students beginning in the fall of 2007 as well as a new service club. This new addition means that junior high students will be given the opportunity to choose which music class they will take, a step which will further help prepare them for the course choices they face in high school. Expanding the junior high curriculum offerings was also a school goal set out in Overbrook’s 2006 five-year strategic plan.

Overbrook has a long-standing tradition in the fine arts and this addition highlights that commitment to developing the whole child. Now junior high students will be able to augment their fine arts education with classes more tailored to their specific needs and interest.
