What kinds of tests are required for admission?
Overbrook joins with the Nashville Consortium of Independent Schools in administering the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). This allows a student to apply to several schools and take only one test. All fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders wishing to apply to Overbrook must take the ISEE. ISEE is a secure, standardized test, which contains two ability sections — verbal and quantitative — two achievement sections, reading comprehension, mathematics achievement, and an essay question for seventh and eighth graders.
What opportunities are available to visit Overbrook?
Overbrook School has scheduled two open houses this fall for prospective parents. They are: Wednesday, October 20, 2010, 9:15 – 11 a.m. and Wednesday, November 17, 2010, 9:15 – 11 a.m. An appointment is requested for the open houses. Please call the Overbrook Admissions Office to confirm an appointment at 292–5134 ext. 257 or RSVP here. Tours can also be scheduled throughout the year.
What is the tuition cost?
The cost of tuition for Pre-K is $5,800, Monday-Friday, 8-11:30 a.m. ExtendedCARE from dismissal until 6 p.m. (call admission office for fees/flexible hours after 11:30) Tuition for kindergarten through eighth grade is $10,700 ExtendedCARE offered until 6 p.m.
