A PREK to 8 CATHOLIC SCHOOL SINCE 1936

Cheerleading

Overbrook cheerleading is open to 7th and 8th grade girls. The opportunity to be a cheerleader is available to any girl in these grades. The squad practices each Friday in order to prepare for a cheerleading competition that is held at the end of October. For the past few years, this competition was held at Pope John Paul II High School and many diocesan schools in the area participate along with Overbrook.

The cheerleading squad also cheers during the regular basketball season as well as during the Overbrook Classic in December. Prior to the Classic and tournament play, the cheerleading squad participates in pep rallies to promote school spirit and unity. Being a cheerleading requires a significant time commitment. The girls who participate begin practicing in early August and end in February. Cheerleading provides the girls with the opportunity to work as a team, build self-confidence and foster school pride.

Cheerleading Schedule Practice is every Friday after school.
