Yes. Overbrook is an independent Catholic school owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of the St. Cecilia Congregation in Nashville.
Is Overbrook a part of the Diocese of Nashville?
No. Overbrook is privately owned and is not a part of the diocese.

We are located off I-440 West End Ave./Harding Road exit within five minutes of Vanderbilt University. The campus is located next to St. Thomas Hospital.

What are the school hours?

7:50 a.m. – 2:50 p.m. Monday through Friday with the exception of Wednesday 2:05 p.m. dismissal.

Is after-school care available?
ExtendedCARE is available for all grades until 6 p.m.
This program gives families more flexible hours for picking up children until 6 p.m. Pre-k and kindergarten children attend a seperate program than grades 1-8.
What do I do when my child is sick and will not be at school?
Call the main office at 292-5134 and leave a message to let the school know your child will not be in school that day, and to make arrangements for homework. An absence note must be given to the homeroom teacher upon a student’s return.
Is lunch provided and how do I pay for lunches?
A hot or cold lunch is available daily for a fixed price in the Overbrook dining hall located in the St. Cecilia Academy building. Students bringing their lunch may purchase milk or water. Lunch tickets can be purchased directly from the cafeteria manager. Pre-k and kindergarten do not eat lunch in the dining hall but bring their lunch and eat in the classroom.

How are snow days announced?
Parents will receive an AlertNow phone call from school whenever there is an unplanned school closing. In addition, snow days will be posted on this Web site (normally on the home page) as well as on local television stations and radio stations.
Is there Mass at Overbrook?
The student body attends Mass in the gym every Friday morning at 8 a.m. Parents and families are welcome to attend. There is also daily Mass on The Dominican Campus during the school year. The schedule is as follows:

When can I apply for admission?
Applications are accepted year round. See dates of deadlines for first pool acceptance under admissions open house calendar.
What kinds of tests are required for admission?
Overbrook joins with the Nashville Consortium of Independent Schools in administering the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). This allows a student to apply to several schools and take only one test. All rising fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders wishing to apply to Overbrook must take the ISEE. ISEE is a secure, standardized test, which contains two ability sections — verbal and quantitative — two achievement sections, reading comprehension, mathematics achievement, and an essay question for seventh and eighth graders.
Pre-k, kindergarten and grades 1-4 take tests or go through screenings at Overbrook. Notification is sent after Dec. 1 or upon receipt of your application.
Can I visit the school?
Tours may be scheduled at any time by calling the director of admissions. Overbrook School has scheduled two open houses this fall for prospective families as well. They are:

What is the tuition cost?
The cost of tuition for pre-k is $5,800 without ExtendedCARE depending upon your choice of hours. Tuition for kindergarten through eighth grade is $10,700
