“It’s an immense source of grace for the schools.”
That is how the Rev. John O’Neill, former campus chaplain, described the daily Masses that take place on The Dominican Campus on Harding Road in West Nashville. The Rev. George Thadathil is now campus chaplain and is still celebrating Mass on campus.
“I know two priests who said their vocation came from sitting in Mass at school with their parents,” Father O’Neill said. “One very senior priest told me he still sees himself in his short pants at school Mass with his mother watching him come in to the church.”
Father George says Masses for Aquinas College students, St. Cecilia Academy high school students and Overbrook’s elementary school aged-children throughout the week as a part of their Catholic education. But he said all are welcome to attend any of the Masses on campus. In addition to daily Mass, the sacrament of reconciliation is available at Aquinas College on Wednesdays at noon.
