The sixth-graders visited Park Manor Retirement Center. They made Christmas ornaments in art class to give to the residents. Several students played piano, guitar and violin, sang Christmas songs and recited monologues. Everyone had a wonderful time and agreed that it was a great way to start off the Christmas season.
The seventh-graders organized a Valentine service project for the troops in the Middle East. Each homeroom teacher received a packet of materials for this project. The packet included construction paper, suggested sayings and some cutouts to make cards for our troops. U.S. Congressman Jim Cooper arranged for the cards to be picked up and sent to the troops serving oversees.
On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the eighth grade went to Second Harvest Food Bank to sort food at one of the bank's busiest times of the year.
