A PREK to 8 CATHOLIC SCHOOL SINCE 1936

Community Service

Overbrook School recently made the single largest donation to Tennessee First Lady Crissy Haslam's book drive. Thanks to the generosity of the Overbrook community, 2,711 books were given to the First Lady so that she may distribute them to children across the state who do not have books of their own.

Watch a video of the event with the First Lady along with other service work being done by Overbrook students.

Students at Overbrook have a tradition of service. Community service year-round activities involve the entire student body. Each year various class projects teach students responsibility and the importance of giving back to the community. Some of the projects include:

• Made and decorated sack lunches for Ronald McDonald House
• Made Valentine cards for VA hospital and local troops overseas
• Donated money, leftover supplies and collected books for St. Pius X Classical School
• Collected shoes for Sole for Souls
• Caroled at St. Thomas Hospital
• Volunteered with their families at Second Harvest Food Bank
• Made sack lunches for St. Thomas surgery waiting room guests
• Made weekly visits to Mary, Queen of Angels

Service is also appreciated around the school. These include:

  • Raising the American flag and announcing birthdays each morning
  • Members of SC and NJHS greet new students and parents during student orientation.
Each year various class projects teach student’s responsibility and the importance of giving back to the community.
