Community Service

Students at Overbrook have a tradition of service. Community service year-round activities involve the entire student body. Each year various class projects teach students responsibility and the importance of giving back to the community. Some of the projects for the 2005-2006 included:

  • Second Harvest Food Bank
  • Nashville Humane Society
  • Classroom Cares
  • Items collected for medical mission to Haiti
  • Ronald McDonald — “Calls for Kids” Telecast
  • Park Manor Retirement Community
  • Valentine service project for our troops in the Middle East
  • Money collected for Katrina victims — St. Louis Cathedral School and Catholic Charities
  • Items collected for Katrina victims
  • “Birdhouse Thing” for W.O. Smith Music School
  • “Dress to Feed” program for Catholic Charities

Service is also appreciated around the school. These include:

  • Raising the American Flag and announcing birthdays each morning
  • Welcome to Junior High gift bag for upcoming 6th graders
  • National Teacher Recognition Week
  • Exam Survival Kits for 6th graders
Each year various class projects teach student’s responsibility and the importance of giving back to the community.
