The mission of the Overbrook library is to connect with students as individuals by providing resources and instruction for differentiated learning styles and ultimately facilitating self-motivated, life-long learning as well as to provide a peaceful area to read, write, and reflect.

The Overbrook library media center supports and enriches the curriculum with a collection of materials that meets the needs of the students and faculty it serves.

To look for books in the library, click on the above link. This Follett circulation system provides an online catalog accessible from any computer for ease of access.

The current collection includes more than 9,233 books (28.7 books per student; recommended number for AdvancED certification is 12 books per student), periodicals, music, and DVDs.

Renaissance Home Connect

With Renaissance Home Connect, parents get a shapshot of a student's Accelerated Reader progress from home, including book levels, quizzes taken, points scored. The username and password is your child's AR username and password.

Check–out Information

  • Each student is assigned a number that is used to checkout library books.
  • First through third graders may checkout two books per week.
  • Fourth and fifth graders may checkout three books per week.
  • Six through eighth graders may checkout four books per week.

Lost or Damaged Books

  • If a book is lost or damaged, the student is responsible for paying the replacement cost of the book.
  • All fees must be cleared before the student checks out another library book.
  • Send damaged books to the library for repair. Please do not mend books at home.

Library Volunteers

  • Volunteers are a valuable resource and are always welcome in the library media center. Please let the librarian know if you, or someone you know, would be interested in being a guest reader, presenting a special program, or lending a hand in the library.
  • Or fill out a volunteer form.

SUMMER AR Days:

Summer AR will take place on the days and times this summer as listed below. However, AR will be located in the library office/workroom and will only have four (4) computer stations available during these times.

These limitations are necessary in order to accommodate the library renovations, the re-location of the art room, the loss of the computer lab and the various cleaning and maintenance schedules throughout the summer. As a result, please be patient and expect to be here a bit longer than usual, given the limited computer availability. Also, be mindful of the AR protocols about students completing their testing independently and direct them to the assigned monitors should they have any questions.
