All parents invited to cheer on their runners that day.
The pledge due date is Sept. 24, 2010.

Overbrook Basketball Classic

The Overbrook Classic is a basketball tournament for seventh and eighth grade school teams. The Classic is held every year in December. The classic is a double elimination tournament with a division for boys and girls. Last year we had 43 teams participate. The event is sponsored by local businesses, families and friends of the Overbrook community

Annual Dinner and Auction

The Annual Dinner and Auction is one of Overbrook School’s biggest social gatherings of the year.   The date is set for April 2, 2011 and will be held at The Loveless Barn, with music and bidding on silent auctions items.  A lovely sit down dinner is served and bidding on Big Board items continues until dessert.  The grand event is the live auction.  Some of the favorites are Principal for the Day, luxurious trips and one-of-a-kind art work.

PARENT EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Purpose of this committee is to raise awareness, inform and educate parents on topics related to education, parenting and school related communications / relationships.

Time commitment:  One hour to several hours, depending on the task chosen.

Duties:  occasional meetings, phone calling, emailing, advertising & marketing.  Once a speaker has been contracted, the chairperson will need assistance with travel plans and facility needs.

SUNSHINE COMMITTEE

Molly Petroni and Margaret Quigley brought back the Sunshine Committee to Overbrook School.

Purpose:  The Sunshine committee will respond to illness, birth, and death with an appropriate card, gift, flower or plant, visit or phone call.  They assist room mothers in arranging meals to homebound parent or families in need.

Time commitment:  Mostly making phone calls and sending emails.

ATHLETIC COMMITTEE

PURPOSE:  To offer an athletic program that promotes the growth of the Overbrook community and the Christian athlete through teamwork, competition and sportsmanship.

This will be achieved by raising the awareness of school sports, and to enhance school spirit through team pep rallies, spirit days, and the spirit store.

Now that our children have all completed their college educations, we often reflect on those formative years and try to pinpoint the genesis of their life skills. These were all nurtured at Overbrook – the desire to excel, compete and become avid readers with a strong Catholic faith and a responsibility for community service.
