Ways to Get Involved

The volunteer spirit is alive and well at Overbrook! Every year, more than 500 students, parents and alumni lend their time and talent to helping the school and the community. Parents and alumni lead several major fundraising projects for the school: the Development Committee, the Overbrook Basketball Classic and the Overbrook Auction and Dinner. Some of the student volunteer activities include raising money for medical research, making care packages for the patients at Vanderbilt's Children's Hospital, and collecting relief supplies for disaster victims.

Alumni can get involved at Overbrook in a number of ways:

The Overbrook Development Committee
The Development Committee is comprised of individuals who have an interest in cultivating donors and requesting gifts on behalf of Overbrook School and its annual giving program. The committee has two primary roles: (1) oversight of the annual giving program, and (2) identification, cultivation and solicitation of potential donors to the annual fund.

The Overbrook Basketball Classic
Every December, the Overbrook Parents Club hosts the annual Overbrook Basketball Classic, which is one of the largest junior high school basketball tournaments in Middle Tennessee. Volunteers are needed in all areas, including program and sales, parking and security, concessions, tickets sales, timekeeping and scorekeeping.

Overbrook Auction and Dinner
This themed event is hosted each spring by the Parents Club to raise money for special projects within the school. Volunteers can help out by soliciting auction items and decorating for the event.
