About

Overbrook Catholic School is a private, coeducational preschool-3 through sixth-grade school owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of the St. Cecilia Congregation of Nashville, Tennessee. As an independent Catholic school, Overbrook Catholic School is under the governance of the Prioress General and the General Council of the St. Cecilia Congregation. The Dominican Sisters devote themselves to Christian education of youth in institutions of learning, exercising this apostolate under the authority of the local bishop. The school is built on the unique charism of the Dominican Order and the St. Cecilia Congregation, and fosters the Gospel spirit of truth and charity while seeking to relate all human culture to the news of salvation. 

Located on 83 rolling acres in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, Overbrook Catholic School offers a unique educational experience with a robust STEM program, a 10,000+ volume library, and the Beyond the Brook Farm, home to our sheep, chickens, and bunnies. Whether harvesting crops, running around our track and field facility, or participating in our award-winning math program, children at OCS receive a rigorous educational experience matched with intentional nurturing. 


The School Board

Owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia since 1936, Overbrook Catholic School is governed by the general council and general officials of the Congregation. General officials are are elected every six years, with the most recent election being June 2024.
