Family Engagement

The Catholic Church recognizes parents as the primary educators of their children. The Catholic school exists to assist parents in the Christian formation of their children. Children grow exponentially when home and school work together for the good of the children.

At Overbrook Catholic School, we believe our students will best champion, encourage, and love one another when they see their parents doing the same. We are grateful for to have many opportunities across campus for community among families, and we invite current and past OCS parents to take part in these great groups.

Get Involved

Parent Association

All parents at Overbrook Catholic School are members of the OCS Parent Association. The purpose of the Association is to foster community among students, faculty, and parents, and to coordinate specific fundraising events for the school.

The Association's responsibilities include:

hosting specific special fundraising events for the benefit of Overbrook Catholic School
providing an opportunity for parents to become more involved in school
providing opportunities for parents to socialize with one another
providing tuition assistance
supporting teachers and staff with continuing education opportunities

Typically, the Association hosts two major fundraisers - the Overbrook Classic Basketball Tournament and an annual Dinner and Auction. Funds raised by the OCS Parent Association support tuition assistance, capital improvements and other special projects.

The OCS Parent Association helps with events such as Advent Mass, Field Day, and the Spring Musical. Volunteers coordinate special events throughout the year, including the Eagle Acts Talent Show and special Father/Daughter and Mother/Son events.

The Parent Association also fosters community among parents by hosting a monthly Morning Mingle, a casual get-together to fuel your morning with coffee and connection.

The OCS Parent Association is guided by the Executive Council and the principal of Overbrook Catholic School. The council is made up of 10-15% of currently enrolled families. Executive Council members serve a three-year term and are required to take an active role in the fundraising projects, assist in programs, and approve the use of funds.

Athletic Booster Club

Go Eagles! Overbrook Catholic School’s Athletic Booster Club is comprised of families who support our athletes and the athletic department. It encourages school spirit, celebrations, communications, and volunteerism for our student-athletes and teams.

Athletic Booster Club memberships are $100 for the 2025-2026 school year and provide the member family with free admission to all regular season, home athletic events during the school year. Funds raised enhance all OCS teams in the DAC and HVAC leagues.

Dominican Dads

Formed on the Dominican Campus over a decade ago, Dominican Dads seeks to challenge and encourage dads of current and former students on the Campus in their vocation as fathers through prayer, fellowship, and service and to facilitate opportunities for Dads to be present on the Campus in a meaningful way.

Dominican Dads is open to any father or father figure of a current or former student at Overbrook Catholic School or St. Cecilia Academy. .

Dominican Dads gather every Friday morning when school is in session. We begin with a brief period of prayer and adoration from 6:15 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. in the SCA chapel, followed by a video or live speaker with discussion and fellowship in the OCS portion of the Dining Hall. Meetings end promptly at 7:30 a.m.

We believe that it is important for Dads to be present on the Dominican Campus as a means of fostering fellowship and service. Past Campus events supported by the Dominican Dads have included the SCA PowderPuff Game in October and the OCS and SCA Community Fish Fry during Lent.

Women's Book Club

Led by our campus president, Sister Dominic, the Women's Book Study is a six-week series offered during both the fall and spring semesters. This weekly gathering provides nourishing community, deep conversation, and intentional prayer to encourage and strengthen women in their vocations.

Meetings include both spiritual and intellectual formation, with time for Lectio Divina, prayer, and faith sharing, followed by discussion of the semester’s assigned book. Participants also have the opportunity to meet new people and deepen existing friendships, building a supportive community that inspires one another to live out their faith.

Women's Book Study is open to any mother or mother-figure of a current or former student at Overbrook Catholic School or St. Cecilia Academy. Gatherings begin at 8 a.m. with social time. Prayer and faith sharing take place from 8:15–8:35 a.m., followed by book discussion from 8:35–9:25 a.m.

Room Parent

Room Parents play a vital role in supporting their child’s class and fostering a sense of community at Overbrook Catholic School. Your time, creativity, and teamwork help make class parties, special events, field trips, and school-wide activities successful. Room Parents work closely with teachers and other parents, assisting with setup, cleanup, coordination, and volunteer recruitment. Contributions are guided by teacher expectations, and all classroom funds are used to benefit students’ educational and social experiences. Thank you for helping create meaningful memories for your child and their classmates!
