Physical Education

Overbrook Catholic School’s primary goal for physical education is to help students understand that their bodies and health are a gift from God and it is their responsibility to nurture and develop their bodies to promote good health throughout their life.

Participation in sports and athletics encourages health, fitness, sportsmanship, appreciation of rules, and care for equipment.

The link between nutrition, physical activity, and learning is well documented. Healthy eating and activity patterns are essential for students to achieve their full academic potential, full physical and mental growth, and lifelong health and well-being.

Students in grades 1st-6th participate in P.E. 3-4 times per week, and P.E. classes are 30 minutes in length.

"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you...therefore glorify God in your body"

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
