Overbrook School's youngest students prepare for the holidays with new program: Christ, Cooking and Crafts
Overbrook School's prekindergarten students got their hands dirty rolling dough, mixing ingredients and measuring pumpkin puree last week as they began to prepare for the holidays with a new program: Christ, Cooking and Crafts, developed by Sister Mary Rose, O.P., who runs the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
Overbrook School will enhance its prekindergarten program for the 2017-2018 school year by extending hours, offering more flexible hours, and developing plans for a new prekindergarten playground. It will also accept three-year-olds for the program.
Twenty-two Overbrook School seventh-graders met required scores in selected subject areas on their standardized/achievement test to qualify to participate in the Duke University Talent Identification Program for 2016-17.
Overbrook hosted approximately 150 chess players and parents at the 3rd Annual Overbrook Scholastic City Qualifier Sept. 24 sponsored by the Nashville Chess Center. The team won three team trophies and seven individual placings.
