We are pleased to welcome Meg Wilson, the new Overbrook Catholic School and St. Cecilia Academy Athletic Coordinator and coach.

Wilson is a Franklin, Tennessee native and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration at Arkansas State University.

Track is her athletic passion, having participated as part of a club track team all four years of high school. She began college as a member of the Miami University track team for one year and finished her last three years running track at the University of Kentucky, where she competed in two outdoor SEC Championship meets.

Before Overbrook Catholic and St. Cecilia, Wilson served as an assistant track and field coach at Catholic High School in Lexington, Kentucky, and Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville. “My experience coaching track has allowed me to work with student-athletes at different skill levels, help them develop both technically and personally, and learn the importance of building strong relationships,” she said. “As a former collegiate track athlete, I enjoy using my own experiences to help younger athletes grow in their sport and build confidence.”

Wilson decided to join Overbrook Catholic and St. Cecilia because she saw it as an opportunity to continue her professional growth in sports and coaching. She recognizes how coaches and programs can have a positive impact on young people. “I was excited about the opportunity to contribute both on the administrative side as Athletic Coordinator and directly with students through coaching,” she explained. “I also value the strong, faithful community here and am excited to become a part of it.” She looks forward to building relationships with the athletes and watching their confidence and abilities increase throughout the season.

As the Athletic Coordinator, she strives to help the athletic programs run smoothly, serve as a resource for coaches and families, and grow in sports administration.

As a coach, her goal is to create a positive environment where athletes feel challenged, supported, and excited to compete. She desires for them to develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. “I want students to remember the relationships they built, the fun they had with their teammates, and the feeling of working toward something together,” she explained. “I want them to finish proud of themselves and know they grew, regardless of wins, losses, times, or results. Most importantly, I want them to feel like being part of the team was a positive experience.”
