Overbrook Catholic School aims to ensure that each student, faculty, and staff member knows the loving presence of God in both big events and in small, everyday encounters.  

In addition to faith formation in the classroom and weekly Mass, students are invited into regular moments of prayer throughout the day. The school chapel, located along a main hallway, offers a quiet place where students of all ages can stop in to spend time with Jesus, offer a quick prayer between classes, or make the Sign of the Cross as they pass by— small habits that help build a lifelong relationship with Christ. 

Directly across from the chapel, a rotating faculty-designed bulletin board serves as another gentle spiritual touchpoint. Each month, a different teacher creates a display meant to encourage reflection and draw hearts toward God. February’s board centered on the theme “God Is Love,” featuring Scripture passages that remind students of the personal and faithful love God has for each of His children. 

Marion Cianciolo, leader of Overbrook Catholic School’s SOAR gifted program, shared the inspiration behind the display: 

"In the past, I had created a classroom board entitled Jesus’s Conversation Hearts with short words or phrases such as 'Follow Me' and 'I Love You'. I wanted to take this concept a step further and use God’s beautiful words of love from the Bible. Children need to understand that the verses of love found throughout scripture are personal to them. They remind us of how precious each of us is to our loving God." 

The display features “Love Letters from God” drawn from Scripture, including: 

• "O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever.”-Psalm 136:1 

• "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love." -John 15:9 

• "See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God.” -1 John 3:1 

• "We love because He first loved us." -1 John 4:19 

• "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued my faithfulness to you." -Jeremiah 31:3 

Scripture is often described as the one book in which the Author is deeply in love with the reader. At Overbrook Catholic School, that truth is woven into daily school life, helping students not only learn about God’s love but encounter it personally.
