Overbrook Catholic School (OCS) respects the privacy of every individual who visits this website. This Privacy Policy outlines the information that OCS may collect and how that information may be used. OCS reserves the right to alter this policy at any time by posting a new privacy policy on their websites. 

Use of Personal Information 

We do not collect any personal information unless you voluntarily provide it by sending us an e-mail, participating in a survey, or completing an online form. “Personal information” means information that is linked or can reasonably be linked to an identified or identifiable natural person. This may include, but is not limited to, name, date of birth, Social Security number, and payment information (for donations).   

Personal information submitted will not be transferred to any non-affiliated third parties unless otherwise stated at the time of collection. When a user submits personal information, it is used only for the purpose stated at the time of collection. This may include:  

  • To process donations, provide donation receipts, and maintain records of donations to process payments  

  • To register you/your child for admissions, programs, or events  

  • To send you updates, newsletters, event invitations, and information about us, unless you opt out clicking the "unsubscribe" link included in every email or by contacting us directly at information@overbrook.edu to update your communication preferences 

  • To ensure your information is accurate and to personalize our communications to you.  

  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights including those arising from any contracts entered into with you including billing, payment, and collections. 

  • To review, improve, and monitor our website, applications, online services, and overall consumer experience, including to provide customization to meet the specific needs.   

  • For testing, research, analysis and service development. We may use data, including public feedback and surveys, to conduct research and for the development of the Website and information we provide. 

  • To respond to law enforcement requests and as required by applicable law, court order, governmental regulations, or other lawful processes. 

  • As necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, security, and safety of us, our employees, our students, our information systems, and the public.  

  • For Overbrook Catholic School’s legitimate interests and legal rights. 

Consent  

Where consent for the use and disclosure of personal information is required, the school will seek consent from the appropriate person. In the case of a student’s personal information, if the student is a minor, the school will seek consent from a parent or legal guardian If the student has reached the age of majority, consent will be obtained directly from the student, except as otherwise permitted or required by law.If we discover we have collected information from a minor, without proper consent, we will delete it promptly.  

Cookies 

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser that allows the website to “remember” your preferences, such as calendar settings and site bookmarks on the site from visit to visit, or to maintain your “logged in” status when visiting protected areas. Web browsers have settings allowing you to reject cookies, or selectively accept cookies, or delete cookies previously accepted. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personal information while on our site. Please be aware that rejecting or deleting cookies from our website may make certain functions unavailable to you.

Security 

This website takes every precaution to protect our users' personal information. Whenever users submit personal information (such as contact info or credit card info) via online forms, registration, or online purchase, upon submission, that information is encrypted via the highest level of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) available.  Servers that store personal information are in a secure environment. Under no circumstances are credit card numbers permanently stored on our website servers. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of our databases or the databases of third parties with which we may share your personal information, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the Internet. We will not be liable for unauthorized disclosure of personal information, including, but not limited to, errors in transmission and unauthorized acts of third parties. 

Non-secured Communications 

Posts to discussion forums, discussion boards, and comments to blogs. When these areas are not in a password-protected area, they may be viewable by the general public. Please be aware of this when posting personal information in these areas.
