OCS fifth grader, J.P., and his classmates celebrate the volume of the library.
Why is the library at Overbrook so important? Probably because books are essential for growth and knowledge. Books can also be a cornerstone for friendship. Walker, a first grader said, “If it was too small it could not hold all the books." Books are both essential and a good learning tool because the characters can teach a lesson through funny examples.
Reading is important because it sharpens our minds, eyesight, and knowledge. "Whether for personal enrichment or entertainment, reading plays a vital role in our lives,'’ said Mrs. Caroline Crouch, the OCS librarian. I remember the first time I came to the library. It was fun and interactive, with 10,000 books to choose from. There is something for everyone, and we are grateful for the big space.
There are many advantages to having a big library. "The size is important because if it was too small, we would have to stuff books," fifth grader Benjamin said. "Having a bigger library creates a wider variety of story collections so that everyone will find a book that they love," fifth grader Will added.
